Vernacular Typography

I’d know that signage from anywhere, made my heart flutter a little bit just looking at it online. This photo, taken at Firenze S. Maria Novella, is part of Molly Woodwarn’s “Vernacular Typography” project.

Lauren Clay

Just came across the work of Lauren Clay, who’s a wizard with paper apparently. Love the colors and playful nature of her little creatures.

How to Dress Like Bubble

Although Patsy will forever be my favorite AbFab character, nothing beats the eccentric stylings of Edina’s assistant Bubble (played by the hilarious Jane Horrocks). The BBC recently pieced together a few of her classic looks for a guide on “How To Dress Like Bubble”.

Burgermat at Royale

Detective Burgerac and Colonel Mustard recently hit up Cape Town for a week of creative festivities, some of which included listening to the sage speakers at Design Indaba, a lot of which included eating burgers.

Stumbling upon the goodness that is Cafe Royal last year, this year Burgerac got his buns in business ahead of time and set up a Burgermat Show at the charming Long Street burger spot. Royal’s beautiful burger maven Jenga Jengs devised a special concoction with Burgerac, which featured an all beef patty topped with um, some stuff. Definitely a secret chipotle sauce was on there, and it tasted damn good. I washed it down with a handful of margaritas — the only good one I found in Cape Town — and lots of chatter with friends from around the globe.

The 24 burger-themed artworks gracing the tables are still up for grabs as handsome A2 giclée prints, sold online for £30 each.
